"Somos la Semilla del Saber Pedagógico"

El 4 de octubre de 1955, en la Casa Curial de Saboya, se celebró una histórica reunión convocada por el Inspector de Educación, el Sr. Rafael Buitrago, junto al Reverendo Padre Luis Augusto Torres y otros distinguidos miembros de la comunidad municipal. El objetivo de este encuentro fue presentar ante el Concejo Administrativo la solicitud para la creación de una Escuela Normal para Señoritas, una institución destinada a la formación del profesorado en la región.

La reunión, que reflejaba el compromiso de las autoridades locales con el desarrollo educativo del municipio, tuvo como resultado el acuerdo de solicitar al Gobierno Departamental la creación de una escuela normal femenina. El Inspector de Educación expuso con claridad la relevancia de esta nueva institución para el fortalecimiento del sistema educativo y, por medio de correspondencia oficial, gestionó ante el gobierno departamental la viabilidad del proyecto.

Según las actas, se propuso que la Escuela Normal se ubicara en un terreno denominado "La Granja", ubicado en la vereda de Resguardos, con una capacidad inicial para albergar un primer año de 35 estudiantes. En esta misma reunión se formalizó el acuerdo #7 del 4 de octubre de 1955, por el cual se cedió este terreno para la creación de la Normal Rural Femenina, con un contrato de cesión que duraría cuatro años, comenzando el 1 de enero de 1956. El predio, de aproximadamente 35 fanegadas, fue entregado con la infraestructura y los servicios necesarios para el funcionamiento de la nueva institución. El acuerdo facultó al Personero Municipal para que gestionara con la Dirección de Educación la formalización de la cesión del terreno y su destino para la formación educativa de mujeres en la carrera docente.

En el año 1956, la Dirección Pública de Boyacá nombró a un grupo de profesores para iniciar las labores en la naciente Escuela Normal de Señoritas de Saboya. Este equipo estaba compuesto por la directora Edelmira Mojica, la secretaria habilitada María Cecilia Gómez, y las profesoras Elisa Rodríguez, Yolanda Medina, Bertha Mora y Leonor Galvis. El 12 de marzo de 1956, las clases dieron inicio con 47 alumnas distribuidas en dos cursos: 1°A y 1°B. Durante los años siguientes, la escuela experimentó un notable crecimiento. En 1957, la matrícula se incrementó a 53 alumnas, 41 de ellas internas y 12 externas. En 1958, la institución comenzó a ofrecer tres cursos, mientras que en 1959 las inscripciones alcanzaron los 67 estudiantes. La expansión continuó en los años siguientes, abriendo el quinto y sexto curso en 1965 y 1966, respectivamente. En 1966, la matrícula alcanzó un total de 158 estudiantes, con una distribución en seis cursos, y ese mismo año se llevó a cabo la primera promoción de la escuela, en la que las graduadas obtuvieron el título de "Maestras".

A lo largo de su historia, la Escuela Normal Superior de Saboya ha sido dirigida por diversos rectores, quienes han contribuido al fortalecimiento académico y social de la institución. Entre los primeros rectores se destacan figuras como Edelmira Mojica (1956-1960), Helia María Torres (1961-1966), y Rubén Darío Villamil (1979-1986). A lo largo de las décadas, el liderazgo de la escuela ha pasado por manos de diferentes educadores y gestores, como Nena Serena Peña de Rivera (1987-2002), Jairo Vicente Cifuentes (2003-2006) y Wilson Rodríguez Beltrán (2011-2024), quienes han guiado a las generaciones de estudiantes a lo largo de su formación académica. En resumen, la Escuela Normal Superior de Saboya ha sido un pilar fundamental en la formación de docentes en la región, contribuyendo al progreso educativo y social del municipio y sus alrededores. A través de sus más de seis décadas de existencia, la institución ha cumplido con su misión de ofrecer una educación de calidad y preparar a las futuras generaciones de maestras, consolidándose como un referente de la educación femenina en la región.

MISIÓN

OBJETIVOS

La Institución Educativa Escuela Normal Superior de Saboyá, forma maestras y maestros para desempeñarse en los niveles de preescolar y básica primaria, basada en principios pedagógicos, didácticos, tecnológicos e investigativos, comprometidos con el proceso educativo y el desarrollo humano con responsabilidad social, ética, equidad de género, inclusión, cultura de paz y liderazgo.

Para el año 2025 la Escuela Normal Superior de Saboyá, será reconocida a nivel departamental y nacional como una Institución de alta calidad, formadora de maestras y maestros con sentido de responsabilidad social.

General:

– Educar niñas, niños y adolescentes en ambientes de aprendizajes incluyentes, pacíficos, pedagógicos e investigativos, con responsabilidad social.

Específicos:
– Formar seres humanos integrales desde la primera infancia que apropien el pensamiento crítico, la actitud ética, el compromiso ambiental y la cultura de paz para ser ciudadanos del mundo.
– Promover una educación basada en principios de libertad, equidad y atención de la diversidad, que potencie capacidades, habilidades y saberes respondiendo al proyecto de vida y necesidades del contexto.
– Desarrollar prácticas reflexivas y procesos basados en los principios misionales de la institución.
